Humanity Unraveling is a satirical news site. Every article on it is invented, written by a language model, and none of it is reporting. If you have arrived from a link and cannot tell whether a story is real, it is not.
Where the stories start
Each piece begins from a genuine headline published by a real outlet. The generator is handed that premise and asked to push it until it becomes absurd. The outlet and the original link are credited on every story, so the real thing a joke is aimed at is always one click away.
What is invented, and what is not
The exaggeration is invented. The premise is not. No statistic, quotation or event is invented and then passed off as real, and no real person is given words they did not say. Institutions, public conduct and the news cycle itself are the target. Private individuals are not.
Nothing here publishes itself
A generated piece is not live the moment it is written. It is held back, unpublished, until a person reads it and decides it should run. That review is the only route onto this site and it is never automated — which is also why the front page is sometimes exactly as you left it.
The absurdity score
Published stories carry a number out of ten. It is assigned by the same model that wrote the piece, against a written rubric, and it rates how far the fiction has been pushed. It measures the joke, not the world.
What the site is, technically
A folder of static files, rebuilt whenever an approved story is added. There is no account system, no advertising and no analytics. The only thing kept in your browser is whichever theme you picked.
None of that makes the site incapable of being wrong. What would count as an actual error here — and what happens to one — is set out separately.
