ICE Warehouse Detention Site Debuts Climate-Controlled Unit Tiers and Loyalty Rewards Card
Facing neighborhood questions about the unmarked building, the facility says it's simply leaning into the obvious comparison.
After months of neighbors whispering about unmarked trucks and blacked-out windows, the warehouse facility has apparently decided transparency means embracing its own branding. Signage now advertises three tiers of unit: Standard, Climate-Controlled, and Premium Climate-Controlled, the last of which reportedly includes a small window.
"We believe in treating every unit with the same care, whether it's patio furniture or a person," said a facility representative, adding that Premium Climate-Controlled comes with a complimentary welcome mat and a coupon for the second month.
A loyalty rewards card is said to be in development, offering points redeemable for faster processing, though the facility has not clarified whether points expire or whether accumulating enough entitles a detainee to a complimentary moving truck. A drive-through pickup lane is reportedly under construction for family members, modeled on similar lanes at competing storage chains.
Neighbors who first raised questions about the building say the new signage has not exactly resolved their concerns, though several admit the climate-control upgrade is, in fairness, an improvement over the warehouse's prior unmarked state.
